The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) announced on Thursday that the Atlantic hurricane season in 2023 might be busier than usual. Thanks to the slower onset of El Niño and record-breaking warm ocean temperatures, NOAA increased the likelihood of an "above normal" hurricane season to 60%. That means we could see 14 to 21 named storms, six to 11 hurricanes, and two to five major hurricanes.
