Rambo, a 3-year-old German shepherd who suffered serious injuries during a rocket attack in eastern Ukraine, is now serving with the Budapest police department in Hungary. The dog, who accompanied Ukrainian soldiers on the front lines of the war, had half of his face mangled and bloody from shrapnel. Following emergency surgery that saved his life, Rambo is now trained to interact with children, older adults, and disabled people at police demonstrations and rehabilitation institutions.

The attack, which also injured some Ukrainian soldiers, blew away pieces of Rambo's skull, damaged his jaw, and severely mangled his right ear. He was taken to safety in western Ukraine and then to a rehabilitation center near Budapest, where further surgeries were performed, including jaw reconstruction, right ear amputation, and the removal of several teeth.

Despite his injuries and past trauma, Rambo is described as very friendly and good-natured, and his ability to work as a police dog despite his disabilities serves as a reminder that dogs and people with disabilities can contribute significantly to society.
