So, check this out: some folks at a big federal agency noticed some weird stuff happening on the Sun. They're saying there's a chance we might get a super cool show of Northern Lights, also known as the Aurora Borealis, way further south than usual—like, we're talking Alabama or even Northern California!

This branch of the National Weather Service, called the Space Weather Prediction Center (SWPC), is all over it. They're keeping tabs on the Sun after it threw out a bunch of solar flares and what they call coronal mass ejections, starting back on May 8th. These ejections can mess with our tech stuff, like phones and GPS, and even mess with the power grid. The SWPC spotted a cluster of sunspots that went nuts and shot out five solar flares in a row.

They're saying these flares are pretty rare and could hit us late tonight or maybe tomorrow. But here's the kicker: if you're up north, you might just catch a glimpse of the aurora show either tonight or tomorrow morning. The cool thing about these Northern Lights is they usually hang out up north because of something to do with Earth's magnetic field, but when there's a lot of solar energy buzzing around, they can sneak down south for a visit. World’s Largest Wildlife Crossing is Going Up So Animals Can Walk Safely Over 8 Lanes of L.A. Traffic

So, get this: out near Los Angeles, they're building this mega wildlife crossing over a ginormous 8-lane freeway, and it's gonna be the biggest one on the whole planet! They just hit this major milestone in April by putting up the first beams, and everyone involved is stoked. Like, the National Wildlife Federation, the Caltrans highway peeps, and a bunch of other folks have been grinding away for years to make this happen.

The boss lady at the National Wildlife Federation, Beth Pratt, was over the moon when they lowered the first chunk of concrete over the freeway. They're planning to slap on about 82 more of these massive beams, each weighing as much as a small herd of elephants. Once this thing's all done, it's gonna be a superhighway for mountain lions, bobcats, deer—you name it! And not only will it keep the critters safe, but it's also gonna help cut down on those crazy wildlife-car accidents that happen way too often. Plus, they've been hustling hard to gather up the cash for this monster project, getting donations from all over the place. It's like a big ol' gift to Mother Nature! (Source)
