😲 Teacher Skips Work for 20 Years and Still Fights Dismissal

So, get this: There's this Italian teacher, Cinzia Paolina De Lio, who took skipping work to Olympic levels. Seriously, she dodged work for 20 out of her 24 years as a teacher. Gave the old heave-ho in 2017 for being "unprepared" and "inattentive", she appealed, and poof! - she's back.

But Cinzia is a master of the leave request. Over 100 in 14 years, including sick leaves, personal time off, you name it. And when she did show up? Let's just say her teaching was as consistent as a wifi connection in the middle of the ocean.

Finally, Italy's Supreme Court had enough and upheld her dismissal. Cinzia says she'll prove her innocence... right after she's done chillin' at the beach. Who knew teaching could be such a vacation? (Source)

😲 Real-Life Spiderman Rescues Toddler in China

Source: Twitter

In Changzhou, a man channeled his inner Spiderman, climbing a building to save a toddler stuck on a ledge. The middle-aged man was caught on tape scaling a pipe to reach a second-floor ledge where the crying child was stranded after falling out of a window from the floor above.

Once our hero got to the ledge, he secured the child while another man lowered a rope from above to hoist the kid back up. After a job well done, our mystery savior descended the same way he came up, dusted off his hands, and flashed a smile.

As per the South China Morning Post, the good samaritan remains unidentified and the child escaped the ordeal with only a few scratches. This act perfectly embodies the Chinese societal norm of "love the children, honor the elders". Quite a hero's day at work! (Source)

πŸŒŠπŸ”ΊThe Bermuda Triangle: Not as Spooky as You ThinkπŸ‘»πŸš«

Alright, so you've probably heard about the Bermuda Triangle, right? That's the spot in the Atlantic Ocean, between Miami, Bermuda, and Puerto Rico, where it seems like planes, ships, and even people have just vanished into thin air. It's been freaking us out for centuries, sparking all kinds of wild ideas from aliens to sea monsters to the lost city of Atlantis.

Even Christopher Columbus, way back in 1492, said his compass started acting up while sailing through there. Plus, there are some downright eerie stories from the 20th century like the mystery of Flight 19 in 1945 when five planes just disappeared during a routine exercise.

The term "Bermuda Triangle" itself didn't pop up until 1964 when a guy named Vincent Gadace wrote about it, and since then, people have had a field day coming up with theories about what's really going on. Some folks reckon aliens are using it as a portal, others think it's a gateway to another dimension, and there are even whispers of advanced Atlantean technology messing things up.

There's a scientific side to all the guesswork too. Ideas include magnetic disturbances, big ol' bubbles of methane gas, and even just plain bad weather or human error. One scientist from Australia, Karl Kruszelnicki, reckons it's really not that much of a mystery and it's all about bad weather and mistakes.

But here's where things get really interesting. A filmmaker named Johnny Harris reckons there's no big mystery here at all. In fact, he says the Bermuda Triangle is actually safer than a lot of other places on the ocean. By looking at loads of data about accidents at sea, Harris found that the Bermuda Triangle doesn't even make the top 10 most dangerous spots.

He got his hands on some stats from 2021 and found out that only a tiny fraction of boats that passed through the Bermuda Triangle had any kind of accident. That's 90 times lower than the global average.

So, it seems like the Bermuda Triangle isn't so much a mystery as it is a misunderstood patch of ocean. It might not be as exciting as aliens or Atlantis, but at least it's real, and that's got to count for something. (Source)

Okay, let's break it down. If Alex is 9th from the top, then there are 8 students above him. Now, if he's 38th from the bottom, there's another 37 students below him. So, if you add up those above, those below, and Alex himself, you get a grand total of 46 students in the class.
