Hey, check this out! You know those awesome historical artworks from Notre-Dame that dodged the fire back in 2019? Well, theyâre finally getting their time to shine! Theyâre called the Mays of Notre-Dame, and they're a bunch of massive religious paintings from the 17th century. Turns out, they havenât been on display together for like, foreverâover 160 years! Why? Because this dude Eugene Viollet-le-Duc, who was all about preserving the cathedralâs vibe, wasnât a fan, so he stashed them away in the side chapels.
But get this, when the fire hit, those side chapels were like, the safest spot! So now, theyâre prepping to show off these bad boys in all their glory at an exhibition starting this April. Youâll get to see them in the same order they were painted, just like they were back in the day. Itâs like stepping into a time machine of religious art, with scenes from Greece, the Bible, and Rome all telling their stories in these huge paintings. Plus, thereâs other cool stuff from the cathedral on display too, like tapestries and whatnot. Itâs gonna be epic! (Source)
